What is the difference between a foley catheter with a straight tip vs a coudé tip?
A coudé tip is curved, while a standard tip is straight. Straight tip is the most common type of catheter tip. In case of obstructions or anatomical variations in the urethra, the difference in shape allows coudé tips to be more easily inserted in situations where a straight tip might be problematic.
