How to Measure for Compression Stockings?

To measure your ankle, calf, thigh, and hip sizes for compression stockings, use a soft measuring tape and follow these steps:

  1. Ankle: Measure around the narrowest part of your ankle, which is usually just above your ankle bone.
  2. Calf: Measure around the widest part of your calf.
  3. Thigh: Measure around the widest part of your thigh, which is usually just below your buttocks.
  4. Hips: Measure around the widest part of your buttocks.

Follow these tips to help you get accurate measurements:

  • When to measure: Do it when your legs are least swollen, usually first thing in the morning.
  • Bare legs: Take off your shoes and socks, and measure your bare legs.
  • Level of tightness: Wrap the measuring tape snugly around your leg, but don’t make it too tight.
  • Measurement differences: Measure twice to ensure accuracy.
